Merry Christmas 2009

So Merry Christmas to all and a very Happy 2010. I have not posted in a while. Mostly because I have been hard at work on the quilts you will see below. They have all been given to my friends and family and hopefully will be enjoyed for years to come. Hope you enjoy seeing some pics of them. This first one is for my friend Emmy, who lives down in St Louis.

Quick quilt break to see a pic of my parents and grandma at Christmas.
My parents Christmas Tree with all the gifts we were not supposed to buy.

Here is the 3rd quilt my sister has made. She keeps telling me she is going to quit and so far it is not happening.
Ok, well this one is sideways so turn you head to the left and see it right. This one I made for my Aunt Tina.
This one is also on it's side and for my Uncle Tom. I made it extra long since Tom is so tall.
Hope it keeps him warm.
So there is a running joke between my mom and her friend David that he is a pig.....so I made him this pillow which was a big hit and everyone loved it.
Here is my little Dexter.....being naughty....which is pretty much all he ever does!!!!!
Here is the 2nd quilt Jody made...it is Halloween on one side and Christmas on the other. Turned out really sharp...you also need to turn your head for this one...I really should have fixed that before I posted these...oh well. No one is perfect, least of all me.

Jody's 2nd quilt the Christmas side.
Made this quilt for David.
Made this quilt for Cathy.

Here is my Grandma's quilt

Hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season and that you have a safe new year. Looks like we are going to get some snow so I think I will be staying home. Drunks and Snow so not mix.

Flowers and Quilts

Fall and Winter is here and the worst of it is it gets dark now at like 4:30pm......darn it.

I sent 1 if my quilts to a friend as a gift and she sent me these beautiful flowers. David made them and left them at my parents house for when I came last Saturday...how fabulous are they!!!!

I had to take them to work cause my little Dexter just would not leave them alone. So I get to enjoy them all day at work and I love it!!!
I made this baby/kid quilt....the picture is sideways which I just notice and to lazy to fix!! HA

I don't think I ever posted this pic of the first throw sized quilt I made for me, it is flannel and my kittes love it!

Sure looks like he as a big butt in this shot. Just like his mommy.

Jody bought him angels wings....he did not enjoy them but he had to dress up for his first halloween.
Still pretending to like each other!

Welcome to November!

Cold and Flu Season has begun...sigh

So Cold and Flu season has started and I got one. Sigh.....I really hope it goes away soon.

So here is a picture of Jody's quilt that I promised to post. I am sad cause this photo just does not do it justice. This quilt just came out AWESOME....and Jody did 95% of the sewing. She is coming over 1-2 times a week to sew. She is really helping me get my Christmas presents done.

Here is the back...we pieced it too. Again the Photo just does not show how cool it is.

So I walk out into the living room and see this...the wreath used to be on the wall. My little Monster knocked it off then laid in it....NICE. Of course it is my fault for having feathers on the wall.

Dexter is very proper in his naughtyness

Miss Hattie has come to see what all the fuss is about.

Dexter Part 2

I call this Clash of the Titans

They have finally made some peace...but this is as close as they get

Here is a quilt that I just finished. It is for a friend. I think it really came out nice....of course the picture is on it's side...I really should pay more attention to that stuff.

Matching Pillow

Jody just finished her quilt...but I messed up the pictures so I will have to post that a little later.

Dexter...part 1

I have finally named my kitty.....Dexter. After the TV show Dexter....he is a serial killer. I think it fits...HA

So the other day I came home and a Halloween decoration on the top shelf of my closet was on the ground. I just assumed it had rolled off. I start working to finsh cleaning the closet and I grey blob comes launching at me. He jumped from the bed to my clothes and clawed his way up....I got it on video so enjoy

Here is him jumping down.....it made me laugh.....

Here is a picture of a table topper I made my Aunt. I really liked the colors on this one.

Here is a table topper I made my mom. I had made her a longer one but my Dad kept moving it out of the way and it was making her crazy so I made her a short version using some of the same fabrics.

So here is my little boy cat back in May when he was less than 2 pounds sitting in my cereal bowl

Here is him last week with that same cereal bowl. I would say he is about 5-6 pounds now. Him and Hattie are getting along better but they still have their moments.

I am working hard to get several quilts done for Christmas. I am almost finished I with the first one and hope to have it done by next week. We shall see. I will post them as I finish.

In my never ending struggle to be interesting enough to keep a blog going I have posted more kitty pictures. I have a new mini quilt that I finished but I am too lazy to down load the pictures off my camera so I can post them....too sad. I will try and get around to it some time in the next 6 months. HA.

Enjoy the video of my naughty little boy cat.....

Here is some kisses I got from Hattie....shortly before she bit me....she is still not over having a new kitty.

He is so cute when he is sleeping

My Great-Aunt Betty passed away last Friday. She was a wonderful woman who lived a full life well into her 80's. She leaves behind 3 children and their spouses as well as 4 grandchildren. I know she is in heaven with her parents, brothers, and sisters having a grand time. Below is a photo I took last year of her and my mom. Love you Aunt Betty and you will be missed.

On June 28th my parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. They came over to my house and my sister and I took them too a movie and dinner. We had a real nice time.

Here is my Hattie with the new kitty......don't they look sweet together? Yeah, well not so much. About 2 seconds after this was taken Hattie growled at him then smacked him on the head and shoved him right off the box. Maybe someday she will like him but not today.

Here is the little kitty with his pillow.....how cute is that?

I was trying to get a picture that would show how big he is getting, from 1 pound 6 ounces to 3 pounds 5 ounces. But the little snot will not sit still for a second so this was the best I could do.

There he is shoved in with my stuffed animals...Jody did it
Here is my baby, the only time she is not growling at me...when she is sleeping.

Here is my sisters new kitty.....
Hope that everyone is having a nice summer....till next time. Amy

So the Humane Society came to work.....can you guess what happened

Seriously how could I not adopt him. I am still thinking about his name. So far I am calling him Columbo since Jody hates it. Is that wrong? Below is a little video of him playing with my hand.

Hattie drinks her water from a glass. This is the kitty sneaking some water from it. This shows how tiny he is. 1 pound and 6 ounces. I hope Hattie does not sit on him.

Jody made me put him in this and it took about 18 pictures of him hoping out of it before we got this. HA!

It was a hard day and now he is napping

Colorado and New Projects

So the beginning of Feb I flew to Colorado to watch my cousin's children while they went to Mexico on vacation. Since I am watching every penny it was a good way to get to visit them since I was not sure I would this year. They are all in school so that left the days free to wonder around. This pic was on the road to Estes Park which is up in the rockies. A cute little tourist town with 3 quilt stores. HA

Here is a nice picture of my evil kitty. The other day I was fast asleep when all of a sudden the something landed hard on the bed shaking me awake. She had jumped from the dresser to the bed then walked up to my face and meowed....I guess she felt I had slept long enough.

I found this little pendant up in Estes Park. I thought it was too cute so bought myself a gift...HA

I made this pillow for Jody's birthday. It matches to the quilt I made her and yes those squares really are that small and yes it was annoying to make but I had very little material left from her quilt so it was small or nothing!!

We have started using Recycle bags at stores and are trying hard not to use plastic so I saw these and have already made like 6 or 7.

Here is a mini version of the bag above. It is nice for just taking a few things too and from work or stuff like that.

Now I have to talk about the AMAZON KINDLE....if you don't know what it is then you live under a rock. Just kidding. It is the new e-book reader and it is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! it holds 1500 books, stays charged for 2 weeks. Is thin as a pencil and easy to read. You can download books to it (without a computer) in less than 60 seconds and I am more than thrilled with the one I got last week. Next time I go on vacation I can pack even less!!! Which I am totally excited about!!!!
